Cindy graduated from the University of Alberta in 1980 with distinction and in 1998 she completed her Master’s degree. Cindy is certified in acupuncture, and IMS, and has completed her Intermediate and Advanced Diploma in Manipulative Therapy. In addition, Cindy has completed courses in Osteoporosis Treatment Strategies and Advanced Therapeutic Taping. Having multiple years of education and practice under her belt, Cindy enjoys continuing her education in order to remain up to date with the new innovative practices coming to light every year. The learning never stops!

Cindy enjoys educating young physiotherapists, and taught Advanced Therapeutic Exercise in the Faculty of Rehabilitation of Medicine at the University of Alberta. Her strong interest in the role of exercise in rehabilitation resulted in her mentorship of kinesiology students over the past 7 years.

Cindy has extensive experience treating chronic low back pain, motor vehicle injuries and all sports related injuries. She is currently listed as an Injury Management Consultant for automobile insurance claims in the province of Alberta.

Cindy is certified in the GLA:D Education and Exercise Program that is geared towards helping patients with hip or knee osteoarthritis (OA) to manage their pain while also building strength and range of motion for a more active life. She has recently received her GLA:D back certification and is looking forward to use her new education on patients with back OA.

Avid golfer? Cindy also has an interest in golf pre-hab. With the help of the exercise therapists, she has developed her own program for patients looking to go into the next golf season with the proper tools to remain injury free throughout their season.

Cindy enjoys experiencing all that nature has to offer and is an avid hiker. Travelling and spending time with her family are her passions. She recently completed a 3 year Master Life Coaching Course in Boston.

Emily graduated from the University of Alberta in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. In 2006, she pursued studying acupuncture and completed her certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. In 2009, she was certified in Spinal Manipulative Therapy. In 2011, Emily completed her certification of Gunn IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation). She is currently pursuing her Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy certification through the American Physical Therapy Section on Women’s Health. In order to keep her skills current and applicable to her clients, Emily has taken a number of complimentary courses including Fit Fore Golf, Assessment & Treatment of TMJ, Therapeutic Taping and Osteoporosis Treatment Strategies. She believes strongly in client education and researched based techniques. Practicing both nationally and internationally, Emily has had experience working in Jasper, Montreal, and Adelaide, Australia.

Emily has taught injury prevention classes at various Running Room locations in Edmonton and St. Albert. She has also written physical therapy columns for the St. Albert Gazette. Emily’s experience encompasses treating sport injuries, post surgical rehabilitation, patients injured in motor vehicle accidents, as well as a variety of common aches and pains.

Emily is an active supporter for cancer research, including involvement with Run for the Cure, Movember, Bust a Move and the Cross Cancer Institute Triathlon.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 kids, participating in community events with family and friends, and staying active with recreational running, golfing and yoga.

With a rich and varied background, Zafer has garnered experience across diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private clinics. Over the past decade, Zafer has practiced with patients spanning a wide age range, from toddlers to octogenarians.

Throughout his professional journey, Zafer has remained dedicated to offering patient-centered care with a holistic approach, always striving to tailor his treatments to meet each individual’s unique needs. Known for his empathetic nature, Zafer is a proficient listener who values open communication with his patients.

At home, Zafer finds joy in the company of his wife and their cat, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Jennifer graduated from the University of Alberta in 2014 with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy and a Bachelors in Physical Education in 2011.

Jennifer completed her acupuncture certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute in February 2016 and her Gokavi Transverse Technique certification in November 2016. This is a dry needling technique that can be combined with electro stimulation for muscle and myofascial injuries. She has also earned her Certificate in Peripheral Joint Manipulation, Certificate in Spinal Joint Manipulation, has completed her Part A’s in Advanced Orthopaedic and Manual Manipulative Physiotherapy, and has her K-taping Certification.

Jennifer was part of the University of Alberta Pandas Volleyball program from 2008-2011. Her passion for volleyball and rehabilitation lead her to do a summer internship with the head therapist of the Canadian National Women’s Volleyball Team. While working with the national team, Jennifer furthered her knowledge of sport injuries and returning athletes to play. She also volunteered her time with the University of Alberta Pandas volleyball team in their 2013-2014 season as a consulting therapist.

As a physiotherapist with extensive coaching experience both in recreational and competitive fencing (with a wide age range from 5 to 80 yrs old), Yue brings an understanding of the significance of a holistic and proactive approach to rehabilitation. Recognizing that many clients are experiencing challenges in the transition from the clinical treatment to home self-management. Yue’s treatments also incorporate therapeutic fitness skills and lifestyle coaching skill on top of manual therapy and modalities, to gain long term improvement in the performance of her clients in their sport or their daily living.

Yue is Canada educated and graduated from the University of Alberta. She is Chinese-Canadian and is able to communicate and perform treatment in both English and Mandarin.

Outside of work, Yue is an avid fencing athlete. With 6 years of persistence and hard work, from a frequently injured weekend warrior to injury-free provincial champion, she deeply understands both weekend warriors’ and athletes’ struggles with injury. In 1997, Fraser obtained an Intermediate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy, and in 1998 he received his Advanced Diploma in Manipulative Therapy. In 2008, he completed his certification in Gunn IMS. In 2009, Fraser earned his acupuncture certification from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Fraser is now certified in the use of Radial Shockwave Therapy. Fraser continues to stay current by participating in various continuing education courses.

Fraser has extensive experience treating sports injuries, work related injuries and injuries arising from motor vehicle accidents. Listed as a Clinical Assistance Professor with the University of Alberta, Fraser has helped train many successful Physical Therapists.

Roman graduated from Queens University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. He holds an Intermediate and Advanced Diploma in Manipulative Therapy and is registered to perform spinal manipulations. He is certified to provide Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation Technique and Acupuncture. He continues to stay current by participating in various continuing education courses.

Roman has significant experience working with athletic injuries and therapeutic taping techniques. He also has experience developing return to work strategies for both motor vehicle and work related accidents. Roman in a Filipino-Canadian and is comfortable providing treatment in Tagalog.

Roman believes that successful rehabilitation is not just the reduction of pain and return to function, but also an understanding of the condition and a self management plan.

Saravanan graduated from the TN Dr. MGR Medical university in India in 2004 and in 2007 he completed his Master’s degree. Saravanan is certified in acupuncture, and IMS, and has completed his spinal manipulative therapy. In addition, Saravanan has completed courses in Advanced Graston technique and Advanced Vestibular rehabilitation. Saravanan believes in learning is a lifelong process as there is a saying “what we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean”.
